Vitro Architectural Glass will be showcasing several new products and innovative technologies at GlassBuild America.

Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) will be showcasing several new products and innovative technologies that offer enhanced sustainability and advanced solutions to pressing industry challenges at GlassBuild America 2021, which returns in person in Atlanta, Ga., September 13-15. In addition, Vitro will be exhibiting some of its foundational products that architects have relied on for years to maximize clarity, color fidelity and brilliant views.

Vitro Glass has been a supporter of GlassBuild America for many years and is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event. GlassBuild America is produced by the National Glass Association and is the largest annual exposition for the glass, window and door industries in the Americas. Vitro Glass will be present as an exhibitor at booth #1719, where attendees can meet with representatives and view samples of the latest Vitro products, including VacuMax™ Vacuum Insulating Glass (VIG), Titan glass, Solarvolt™ building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) glass, Solarban® Acuity™ low-e, low-iron glass and Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass.

Launched in September 2021, VacuMax™ VIG integrates into traditional and advanced glazing systems to deliver extraordinary R-values, exceptional insulating performance and the safety of tempered glass. These new 8.3mm VIG units consist of two fully tempered lites of glass separated by a proprietary non-leaded metal seal and a vacuum space. The units' slim construction and light weight allow them to be incorporated into virtually any traditional glazing system, window frame or curtainwall application.

Introduced in July 2021, Titan glass is a new oversized glass product for large-scale exterior insulating glass units (IGUs). Available in thicknesses of 8 and 10 millimeters, Titan glass can be manufactured with Solarban® 60, 70, 72, 90 or R100 glass coatings for added solar control and clear, Acuity™ or Starphire® glass substrates.

In March 2021, Vitro unveiled Solarvolt™ building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) glass lites. Solarvolt™ BIPV lites combine the aesthetics and performance of Vitro Glass products with CO2-free power generation and protection from the elements. Solarvolt™ BIPV lites can be used to enhance various components of commercial building exteriors while simultaneously generating passive solar power, reducing air conditioning costs and even replacing conventional cladding materials.

Since 2018, Vitro Glass has offered Solarban® Acuity™ low-e, low-iron glass as a competitively priced upgrade to conventional clear glass that offers superior clarity for vision glass applications and truer rendition of colored spandrel glass panels. Acuity™ low‑iron glass is specially engineered for vision glazings, both as a substrate for Solarban® low‑e coatings and for all lites in an insulated unit or laminated configuration.

Introduced in 1990, Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass remains the clearest, most transparent commercial float glass available today and has been a hallmark of Vitro Glass for over three decades. With visible light transmittance (VLT) of 91 percent in a standard ¼ inch (6 millimeter) thickness, Starphire Ultra-Clear® glass offers stunningly clear views with vivid color fidelity.
