Senior go the Extra 5000 Miles for their Customers

Date: 7 September 2015

Leading fenestration designer and supplier Senior Architectural Systems has always had a reputation for exceptional customer service, going the extra mile to keep their customers happy.

But when a request came in to supply 400m2 of curtain wall for a new build in West Africa, Senior went an extra 5,000 miles to make sure the project was a success. It all started with a phone call from Bob Sherring at Aluminium Systems Ltd., a company based in Barwell, Leicestershire, specialising in supplying architectural, solar shading and ventilation solutions. He was looking for a company willing and able to provide curtain walling for Adepa House, a brand new 4 story office block to be built in Accra, the thriving capital city of Ghana.

“We contacted several fenestration companies” explained Bob, “but only Senior Architectural Systems were willing to work with us to make sure that the project in Ghana went ahead.”

With average daily temperatures in Accra of 30oC, Senior recommended their thermally efficient SCW+ aluminium curtain wall system to help keep the new offices at a comfortable temperature, together with entrance doors from their SD/SFG suites. Further horizontal solar shading at the top of the building was to be provided by Aluminium Systems Ltd.

After a visit by Bob and his client to the company’s headquarters and factory in Denaby, Senior were awarded the contract. “We were very impressed with Senior’s products, manufacturing facilities and people” said Bob. “The fact that they were also able to supply the double glazed and non-vision units from their dedicated manufacturing facility in Scarborough was an added bonus.”

“But what really impressed us was that they arranged for one of their fabricators to not only make the curtain walling, but also for one of their installation experts to accompany the Aluminium Systems technicians to Ghana, to train local fitters on how to install the product correctly.”

“This meant that when the three 40 ft containers arrived in Accra, we were already there and able to train and supervise the local team so that they could install the curtain walling to meet project deadlines.”

“Our client, a major developer in Ghana, was so pleased with the project that we have since secured an additional 6 projects and would definitely use Senior Architectural Systems again.”
