At that time, it was spread over an area of 44000 sq.m.
Today, after a second phase of construction, it boasts of 58000 sq.m. of space, with a high-rise commercial building, 12 cinema theatres and an aquapark, the first of its kind in the region. Glass for shopping malls has once again played a key role in this transformation, blending aesthetic value with functional attributes.
Aupark is located near the Sad Janka Krala Public Park, that was also known as Aupark in the past. With the river Danube in close proximity, it is easily accessible by any mode of transport. After the renovation, the number of stores in the mall amount to 249. The architect Juraj Jancina has ensured that the use of special glass for shopping malls creates a spectacular presence for the Aupark.

Parking space is aplenty at the Aupark; there is an underground garage with 646 spaces, an adjacent parking house comprising 653 spaces and an outside parking lot of 480 spaces. Comfort, double glazing glass for shopping malls has been extensively used.
From the Saint-Gobain stable, SGG COOL-LITE SKN 165 and SGG Planistar were chosen. SGG COOL-LITE SKN 165 is a solar control glass, which blocks up to 66% of solar heat by reflecting it to the outside. It can be used in residential or commercial buildings alike, either for façades or overhead glazing. Due to the unique properties of the coatings, it is suited for applications requiring annealed and toughened or heat-strengthened glass. The coating allows the light through while reducing the solar heat, making it ideal for commercial glazing where high levels of light transmittance coupled with a low solar factor are required.

SGG PLANISTAR SUN is a low-E, neutral soft coated glass. This double glazing solution provides 3 times more heat insulation than standard double glazing. SGG PLANISTAR SUN double glazed units offer improved thermal insulation along with solar control and high levels of light transmission. The neutral appearance of the glass enables the product to be used in a wide variety of applications in both new build and refurbishment. It is best suited for public or commercial buildings.
At the Aupark, glass for shopping malls speaks for itself. Glass speaks of why it is indispensable to construction, be it new or renovated, why no other material can match its grandeur and why it can singularly take architecture to brazen new heights of glory. Glass, at the Aupark, truly makes a sweeping statement of style.
