Dortech have successfully completed works at Kelvin Hall Academy in Hull for Main Contractors, Balfour Beatty.

The scheme which was designed by architects Space, incorporates over 2,500m2 of curtain walling, windows, doors and roof lights.

Dortech utilised Technal's new MODAL systems for the project incorporating facets and projecting brise soleil at its head.

The new Kelvin Hall School will provide a new 1500 (approximately) place secondary school for pupils aged 11-16 on the grounds of the existing School with a total internal floor area of approximately 11,500 m². The new school building will tie into and provide good links with the existing sports facility.

The school comprises 3 storeys of teaching accommodation organised around a 3 storey high “agora” space consisting of a dining area, Café, break out / lead lesson areas, seminar rooms and staff facilities.
