Wrightstyle supplied some 570 sq metres of 60 minute fire-rated curtain walling for the University of Malta’s state-of-the-art Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department, which was part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Wrightstyle’s thermally-efficient and Low E systems, which also included fire-rated doors, are to protect two internal courtyard atria, and were supplied in large-span configuration.
The ICT building has 4,000 sq metres of floor space and, apart from teaching and research areas, provides a secure environment for the University’s servers and supercomputer clusters.
“Although we export our systems worldwide, it is rare for us to carry out installations overseas - a testament to our reputation for quality and ability to work to very short design and procurement timeframes,” said Lee Coates, Wrightstyle’s technical director.
The company supplies a comprehensive range of steel and aluminium internal and external glazing systems and fire doors, with test accreditation in the EU, USA and Far East. All its systems are tested as one integrated unit, with comprehensive guarantees.
Wrightstyle has also carried out project-specific live bomb testing, videos of which can be viewed from the company’s website. Wrightstyle has successfully tested its systems against 500kg of TNT-equivalent explosive, the size of a lorry bomb.
The company also offers a complete design, fabrication and installation service – a one-stop solution that allows for faster project turnaround and, by shortening the supply chain, a cost-efficient service.
