Unique will be using the WarmCore window system and the SPW500 door and SF52 curtain walling system from Senior Architectural Systems. Unique has specified Synseal’s WarmCore system for several commercial contracts since it began fabricating the product in 2016, including the Leicester-based fabricator’s previous work at St. Andrew’s Park.
Clients continue to be impressed with the design of the WarmCore system, offering market-leading thermal performance with its innovative full width thermal core, whilst simultaneously providing the sleek and architectural look of aluminium. Unique Window Systems has used the system on numerous occasions – both for new-build homes and varying types of commercial developments across the country.
The Dice Blocks project comprises seven pavilions over three and four storeys, including enclosed winter gardens orientated to provide year-round views over its park setting. Sited between Uxbridge Town Centre and St. Andrew’s Park, this final phase of the redevelopment of RAF Uxbridge provides cross subsidy for earlier affordable phases.
The buildings are scaled to respect the sensitive park context, while mediating between taller buildings within the wider redevelopment. High quality, durable and maintenance-free materials were used to create individual elevations to each block and the scheme is served by an energy centre within the wider development.
The Dice Blocks have already garnered considerable acclaim, being shortlisted for the Project Award at the 2018 Housing Design Awards.
