"Cool Mist" accompanies "Arctic Snow" to form Solutia's White Series -- presenting unmatched aesthetic qualities along with important benefits for both interior spaces and exterior applications.
Traditionally, architects and interior designers have had to sacrifice functionality when incorporating the aesthetic quality of frosted, etched or sandblasted glass into a building project. Solutia's new Vanceva(TM) Color White Series provides beauty and a distinctive look, along with important safety, security, sound control and solar benefits found in laminated glass.
The White Series is also easy to maintain and provides long-term durability against fingerprints, cleansers, hairspray, and other common glazing surface contaminants. The White Series provides differing levels of translucence with shades of white that offer a range of 65-80% transmission of light. Translucent materials such as the Vanceva(TM) Color White Series are ideal in interior applications, such as conference rooms and partitions, providing privacy while letting in light and allowing visual accessibility.
The "Cool Mist" offering also marks Solutia's introduction of a new "eco- chromatic" naming system for its interlayers, which previously carried numeric names.
"By naming these colors with globally-recognized monikers derived from objects commonly found in nature, we emotionally and personally communicate with designers as we convey a message of imagination, creativity and distinction," said Victoria M. Holt, Vice President and General Manager of Solutia's Performance Films division. "We also deliver on the message of Vanceva as a brand that allows architects and designers to think about glass as performing functions they never thought possible," Holt added.
"Cool Mist" and the "White Series" are the first in a sequence of Vanceva(TM) Color offerings Solutia will begin introducing in the next several months, culminating in the unveiling of the complete Vanceva(TM) Color palette at the NeoCon show in June 2002.
The Vanceva(TM) family of products will be used in superior performance laminated glazing systems and are designed to meet the evolving needs of the architectural and automotive markets.
