Debut Glass now supplying 80% Thermobar Warm Edge Units

Date: 20 June 2011

Debut Glass in Kent is one of many of Thermoseal Group’s long-term customers now supplying all of its warm edge units with Thermobar Warm Edge Spacer to meet the market demand for ‘C’ to ‘A’ rated windows.

Over 80% of its units are now warm edge, all of which are made with either Thermobar LITE (non-taped version) for units not gas filled, or Thermobar (taped version) for gas-filled units aiming for ‘A’ ratings.

Glen Marsh, IG Manager at Debut Glass discusses his experience of working with Thermobar: “Having used other warm edge spacers, I appreciate how user-friendly Thermobar is. It is particularly good for stapling Georgian fittings to without seeing any signs of cracking or breaking. Overall, Thermoseal Group seems to have countered any problems we have seen with warm edge spacers in the past.

“As a business, we are embracing the growing market for Window Energy Rated Windows and have recently received our EN1279 part 3 pass certificate for gas filling having submitted units with Thermobar for testing back in August 2010. We can now supply units to meet the increasing demand for gas-filling.

“In terms of appearance, the majority of the bar we purchase is Black Thermobar, but out of preference I like the look of the grey. It’s a colour close to that of traditional aluminium spacer and i believe it generally looks better inside the window.

“We have now worked with Thermoseal Group since we started up over 10 years ago. The service has been generally great and the Kent depot is local so handy to pick up goods if we need to.”

Thermobar warm edge spacer is available in black and grey in sizes: 11.5mm, 13.5mm, 15.5mm, 17.5mm and 19.5mm. Tailor-made corner keys, gas keys and flexi keys are also supplied in black and grey.
