Wrightstyle, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of steel and aluminium glazing systems, is supplying specialist systems for three flagship projects in Doha, Qatar, underlining the company’s international reputation.

Wrightstyle is supplying to its long-established customer in the Gulf, Aluminium Technology Auxiliary Industries WWL (ALUTEC), Qatar’s largest aluminium and glazing company, and to Fensys Middle East Doors and Windows LLC, based in Abu Dhabi, a market leader in the supply of both internal and external systems. The first project is for an extensive upgrading of the Al Wakra Hospital, one of Qatar’s leading hospitals with over 200 beds and nearly 3,000 staff. The 130,000 sq metre Al Wakra Hospital is managed by the Hamad Medical Corporation, the country’s premier not-for-profit healthcare provider, which also manages the country’s ambulance service. Wrightstyle supplied a number of products and systems, including fire-rated curtain walling, doors and internal screens.

The second project, also in partnership with ALUTEC, is the supply of 60 minute fire rated stainless steel doors for the Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, which will be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. The 372-room luxury hotel, set in the Central Business District and due to open in 2015, will include a man-made beach, wave pool, rivers and a waterfall.

The third contract, for Fensys, is the supply of ten fully-fabricated 90/90 stainless steel windows, for Education City, Doha – one of the world’s first “multiversities” which comprises campuses of US, UK and French universities – and a number of research and scientific centres of excellence. The contract is for the facility’s central plant, whose primary function is the supply of air conditioning for the enormous 2,500 acre establishment and its 1,300 students, drawn from 70 nationalities.

“These contracts underline the international dimension of this specialist market, and how we have built an international reputation for the design and fabrication of integrated glass and frame systems,” said Lee Coates, Wrightstyle’s technical director. “The Fensys contract was particularly challenging because of the large profile sizes and the demanding specification for 90 minutes integrity and insulation,” he said. www.wrightstyle.co.uk
