Internationalization demands change and progress. In order to lead this, Dr. Michael Kothe and his team are working permanently on the optimization of products and processes in the division research and development at Thiele Glas.

According to a new regulation within the EU, double identifications are no longer admissible concerning building products. This means that those products can only be certified in the future with the CE-labelling.

The up to now valid Ü-registration numbers in Germany (mostly more detailed than the CE-registration numbers) are no longer permitted and therefore are being dropped on our delivery notes.

Products for which the operational capability is no longer sufficiently covered by using the CE- labelling may need additional building approvals (AbZ) or test certificates (AbP) or an approval on a case-by-case basis. Thiele Glas already has AbZ or AbP for many products so that the costs stay as low as possible for our customers.

At the moment, state regulations regarding construction, which are different in each state, are being rewritten in order to standardize the admission criteria. Thiele Glas aims for usefully supplement the requirements and to further develop the service.

But there aren’t just changes in all areas of certifications. Also our products like toughened safety glass with alarm strip or Heat-Soak tested single-pane safety glass are subject to a constant process of optimization. You can find more details in our current issue of our customer and employee magazine glasspezial.
