On the 12th June Maxit Netherlands opened the new dry mortar production tower "Maxima 1" in the presence of customers, employees and many other guests.

With Claude Imauven, Jean-Marie Vaissaire and Jean-Luc Gardaz, the

Saint-Gobain Construction Products section was well represented.

Guests of honour were Mr Van Gijzel, Mayor of Eindhoven and Ms Huysmans-Rockx, the widow of the founder of the Eindhoven plant. In September 2008, during the celebrations of marking the uppermost point of "Maxima 1", architectural and urban development circles were already talking about the ‘Maxima 1’ as being a new icon of industrial architecture. Now that the tower has been completed and is fully operational, this unique construction also symbolizes the innovative nature of the company Maxit and Saint-Gobain.
