This work involves the replacement of most of this special school’s existing windows, doors and curtain walling, as well as replacement cladding and re-decoration works to the external areas surrounding the existing crittall windows and doors.
Due to the special nature of the teaching and safeguarding of the pupils, this work has to be carried out during school holiday periods.
Hazlemere Commercial are experienced in undertaking this sort of programme, where the window and door replacement schedule cannot be allowed to slip, as all works need to be completed within the windows of opportunity afforded when pupils are on holiday.
Hazlemere Commercial carried out the first phase of replacement windows and doors at Chiltern Wood Academy in High Wycombe in 2017, and have been commissioned by Bucks County Council to complete a second phase of manufacturing and installing replacement aluminium windows and doors during the 2018 Easter school holiday period.
The fact that Buckinghamshire County Council appointed Hazlemere Commercial to undertake the second phase of works at Chiltern Wood Academy, is proof that the first phase was completed successfully.
Due to Hazlemere Commercial’s expertise working on more sensitive educational premises, Hazlemere Commercial are often asked to tender for fabricating and fitting aluminium windows and doors at special needs schools.
The £340,000 + VAT refurbishment contract at Tregonwell Academy in Bournemouth involves the replacement of the existing single glazed Crittall windows, and worn out wooden and steel doors, replacement of deteriorated existing timber cladding to six different elevations, with engineered timber cladding, as well as re-decoration works to the external window reveals.
Hazlemere Commercial will be manufacturing all the Sapa DF75 Si aluminium casement windows, all the Sapa Elegance 52 aluminium curtain walling and all the Sapa Stormframe STII commercial aluminium entrance doors for Tregonwell Academy at their 38,000 square foot High Wycombe factory in South Buckinghamshire. The installation has been scheduled in to be carried out during the school’s 2018 Summer holiday period.
