Rogers, who is a regular speaker at GPD events, will discuss methods IG manufacturers are using to achieve R5 performance, especially the use of hard-coat, pyrolytic low-e coatings on surface #4.
“We want to share our insight with IG manufacturers and demonstrate how improving just one performance variable can impact a unit’s overall performance,” Rogers said. “For example, if one configuration is changed to reduce condensation resistance, it can lead to confounding problems, including water and ice damage to the fenestration system and the wall surround. We want to provide an overall performance picture for manufacturers, so they can choose the best configurations for a particular environment.”
Rogers’ GPD presentation, “Effects of #4 Surface Low-E Coatings on Fenestration Condensation Resistance,” is listed in the Insulating Glass Units and Window Technology category on the GPD website. Visit www.gpd.fi for more information.
A 25-year fenestration industry veteran, Rogers is actively involved and has chaired various task groups and committees within industry associations, including AAMA, WDMA, NFRC, GANA, IGMA and ASTM. He holds five U.S. patents for fenestration products and has degrees in mechanical engineering, finance, business management, advanced marketing strategy and international negotiations.
