The abbreviations designate a two-part office complex in Düsseldorf's bustling quarter Golzheim. The building ensemble features approximately 35,000 square metres of gross floor area. boc is the younger of the two office buildings - and thanks to glass from Wernberg a model regarding sustainable energy management.Bonneshof Office Center - that's the building's full name where acronym boc is derived from.Main tenant, like in the adjoining Tersteegen Office Center (toc) is KPMG, one of the Big Four auditing firms worldwide.
Apart from the building's intricate from the most striking features of the new complex are the contrasts in its facade. These are brought about by the building's glass cladding, a second facade fixed to boc's primary facade. Depending on the cardinal direction and the respective interior situation, black photovoltaic panes and gray insulating panes alternate with climate control glass printed in white.
While the photovoltaic modules contribute to the in-house generation of 70 percent of the energy needed in the Bonneshof Office Center, the climate control panes made by FLACHGLAS Wernberg reflect away a large portion of the sun's heat. These high-performance modules are composed of our laminated safety glass SIGLADUR® with digital ceramic printing.
As already mentioned: KPMG is one of the Big Four auditing firms worldwide. Thorough reviews and examinations are the employees' daily routine. Our climate control glass has passed the field test with flying colours. And as you may remember: The hot summer weeks in July 2014 have been a rather arduous challenge in that respect.
