Lumiglass eyes product diversification into architectural bullet resistant glass domain

Company targets growth across the GCC states, Middle East and Africa - Lumiglass Industries LLC, a component of Glass LLC, leading processors of laminated safety glass in the Middle East and a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, has announced plans to diversify its product offering into architectural Bullet Resistant Glass sector in line with rising industry demand amidst rampant construction in the region.    The company aims to reinforce its market presence in countries across the region, including the GCC states, other Middle East countries, Asia and possible expansion into new markets across the African continent.

Lumiglass is currently operating in Egypt.
 
Lumiglass has already expanded its bullet-resistant glass production capacity by 50 per cent per year by adding new and advanced technology of automotive glass bending furnaces.
 
The global bulletproof glass market has witnessed a massive growth trajectory in the past decade, and is expected to report a compounded annual growth rate of over 18 per cent in the period 2012-2016, driven by fast-paced growth in the automotive industry and expanding scope of usage in the construction sector.
 
Rizwanullah Khan, Executive President of Lumiglass, said: “The growing demand of bullet-resistant glass and laminated safety glass in the region is spearheading the expansion plans of Lumiglass Industries. The company is eyeing strong growth in its portfolio and geographical presence in the coming two years, with a strong focus on innovation.”
 
He added: “Since its inception in 2003, Lumiglass has maintained high standards of quality and this, coupled with its constant upgrade of new furnaces allows Lumiglass to produce and supply a wide selection of high-performance laminated glass to customers around the region and beyond.”
 
The company is studying plans to introduce new products in line with market demands, which include maximizing the laminated safety glass offerings to meet the most complex safety and design requirements at various performance levels.
 
Lumiglass Industries has successfully attained all relevant quality certifications such as the CE Mark and label certification, in accordance with EN 14449-2, as well as other internationally-recognized armor glass certifications for ballistic protection.
