Listers Win Regional Award

The Sentinel Business Awards recognise the cream of regional businesses promoting customer confidence in the finalists and winners.



Entering these particular awards took Listers into a unique arena. It’s true that Listers are not new to competing for awards, but they usually find themselves up against other window and door manufactures. This time they faced many different types of businesses with a wide variety of specialisms which presented a real challenge. But it was a challenge that clearly paid off when they walked away winning the “Best Use of IT and Communications” award.

British Telecom sponsored this particular award judging company’s innovative use of technologies to produce efficiencies and support of their customers. The event consists of several award categories and having been nominated finalists on three previous occasions, Listers were also finalists this year for the “Environmental Business Award”.



Listers Managing Director, Mark Warren said that “Listers, like many other successful companies, recognise just how important awards are and how essential it is to be a part of them. Actually winning an award is an added bonus, the most important thing is to have a goal to reach for, something to focus on. Businesses are having a tough time in the current economy and awards can really give a positive lift to all your staff and your customers.”

Listers were chosen by BT because they had successfully used technology to improve communication with both customers and suppliers. With in-house development of their own software providing a unique online system designed to make quick, accurate pricing always accessible and a behind the scenes automatic data entering system they have invested in improving their customer’s business experience. Another technology just introduced is an extensive bar coding system, used to track windows from start to finish enabling their trade customers to keep track of their orders progress.



We all need to look at what we are doing from time to time and set some goals to improve our businesses. Listers approach to entering…. and winning… awards seems to help them keep moving ahead. Perhaps this would help other businesses too.
