Introducing New VistaLuxe Complementary & Ultra Series Sliding Windows

Designed in collaboration with architects, Ultra Series and VistaLuxe Complementary sliding windows provide solutions for larger expansive openings while offering solid performance ratings.

The new design incorporates a sleek exterior appearance which eliminates the use of vinyl tracks, a refined wood interior, needle-bearing rollers for easy operation, and a new interior glazing bead system with no visible fasteners.

VistaLuxe Complementary sliding windows include square exterior sticking on the sash and square interior glazing beads.



Ultra Series and VistaLuxe Complementary sliding windows are available in single, double, triple and quad configurations, with unit sizes up to 168" wide and ratings up to DP45.

Maximum widths and heights are dependent upon the configuration. Air, water and structural values will be available on the Kolbe website in the near future. Note that the new sliding windows are not available in either the Heritage or Classic Series.

Sliding Window Details

Some notable features of the new sliding windows:

• 1-15/16" thick sash
• Overall jamb width is 4-9/16" (basic box width is 4-9/16")
• Extruded aluminum frame and sash exterior
• Positive action lock (PAL) automatically locks when the window is closed
• Needle bearing sash rollers for easy operation
• Tilt-in sash for easy cleaning on units with sash under 2'6" wide and 4'0" tall
• Low profile, fiberglass sill with hidden weep system
• Center interlock and stiles have matching sightlines
• Optional finger pulls
• Optional triple pane glass
• Optional retractable screen on single, triple and quad units
• Can meet 2016 ENERGY STAR® criteria for both the United States & Canada

Single Sliding Window

• Active sash (interior sash) can be either left or right
• Stationary sash placed on the outside track
• Sash Width Limitations = nominal 12" min, 48" max
• Rough Opening Size Limitations:
  • Width = 24" min, 96" max
  • Height = 14" min, 72" max

Double Sliding Window

• Primary active sash (interior sash) can be either left or right
• Sash Width Limitations = nominal 12" min, 48" max
• Rough Opening Size Limitations:
  • Width = 24" min, 96" max
  • Height = 14" min, 72" max

Triple Sliding Window

• Operation = AFA (Active-Fixed-Active)
• Stationary sash placed on the outside track
• Operating Sash Width Limitations = nominal 12" min, 30" max
• Stationary Sash Width = 2 times the operating sash width + 3-1/8"
• Rough Opening Size Limitations:
  • Width = 48" min, 120" max
  • Height = 14" min, 72" max

Quad Sliding Window

• Operation = AFFA or FAAF (Active-Fixed-Fixed-Active or Fixed-Active-Active-Fixed)
• Stationary sash placed on the outside track
• Operating Sash Width Limitations = nominal 12" min, 42" max
• Rough Opening Size Limitations:
  • Width = 48" min, 168" max
  • Height = 14" min, 72" max
