Energy Saving Glass Project Settles In Fengyang

A project with investment of total 2 billion yuan was officially inked in Fengyang on August.12. The project involves building production lines of glass used in photovoltaic(PV) industry and energy saving glass.

These two programmes, ultra-clear glass used as cover in PV cells and energy saving glass are part of "861 Action Plan" proposed by Anhui province, which aims to construct eight key industrial bases and six pillar industries, striving to lift GDP per capita to USD 1,000 by 2007.Two production lines with capacity of 600 tons of PV cell-used glass and two other production lines with capacity of 900 tons of energy saving glass will be built, according to the plan.
 
The construction of the former one is considered as an important step toward fulfilling goal of developing silicon industry valued over 100 billion yuan in Fengyang, which would greatly enhance the county's standing in the industry.
