Compulsory auto parts certification covers more

Thirteen categories of auto parts need to be certificated by the China Compulsory Certification (CCC), those products without CCC marks were not allowed to leave factory or be sold or used in other business activities.



The China Certification and Accreditation Administration source said it will further expand the certification scopes and announce the third batch of auto parts that need to receive certification at the beginning of 2007.



The 13 categories of auto parts were external lighting and lighting devices, retro reflectors, vehicle traveling data recorders, reflectors, brake hoses, rearview mirrors, horns, fuel tanks, door locks and door retention components, seat and seat headrests, rearview mirror products and interior decoration products. Adding safety belts, tires, safety glass and motorcycle engines, there are total of 17 vehicle product categories that were brought under the CCC system.
