Date: 25 January 2022
From 1 to 4 February, the BUDMA fair starts - one of the most important events in the construction industry in Poland and Europe! This is the 30th edition of the fair known and appreciated by contractors, architects, representatives of the building materials trade, investors, and developers. What will we see, listen to and learn in Poznań?
The four-day meeting of the construction industry in Poznań is primarily a presentation of the latest product, technology, and service offering presented by manufacturers and distributors from almost the entire cross-section of the construction industry. It is here that we will have the opportunity to see as many as 26 winners of the prestigious MTP Gold Medal at the BUDMA fair. It is worth paying special attention to them because they stand out in terms of technology, quality of the materials used, finishing, or also extraordinary design. At the exhibitors' stands, we will also see many new products and market premieres.
- The beginning of the year is the perfect time for market premieres, implementation of new systems, solutions or observing the latest trends and" touching "innovative technologies and products. According to our exhibitors' announcements, we will see a lot of them in Poznań! - says the director of the BUDMA fair - Marta Szydłowska.
See it, learn it, try it!
The BUDMA fair is also a series of interesting accompanying events, both substantive and practical, where we will gain the most up-to-date knowledge and raise our qualifications, both for experienced professionals operating in the industry for many years, as well as for adepts of construction art. From the first day of the BUDMA fair, we will be able to see the best roofers "in action" who will show their extraordinary skills during the Roofing Competition.
The special presentation and show zone organized by the Polish Roofers Association attracts the attention of roofers, carpenters and tinsmiths not only from our country. On the other hand, parquet flooring contractors will certainly benefit from the Flooring Zone and Parquet Flooring Workshops, where we will see the best professionals presenting the right, latest technical solutions, and we will be able to try the tools or the presented materials ourselves.
For door and window joinery installers, an important point of the BUDMA fair will certainly be the space organized by the Polish Windows and Doors Association, where, as part of the Good Assembly program, you will be able to learn about new techniques and assembly systems. We also mentioned the future of construction in Poland - school students who will present their passion for construction during the fair as part of the 50th edition of the "Golden Trowel" Construction Tournament. It is worth paying attention to them because soon we will see them in construction and renovation teams!
The 1st edition of the Finals of the Champions League of construction machinery operators as part of the INTERMASZ fair accompanying the BUDMA fair, of course, also promises to be interesting. As announced by the organizer of the event, it is to be a place of lively integration of the dynamically developing community, exchange of experiences, business meetings, and commercial presentations. Among the guests, there will be numerous invited representatives of working machinery operators, service companies, and representatives of leading brands.
A renewed look at architecture
Renewal: a look at the building, district, city. This idea will guide the two-day D&A Design and Architecture Forum, dedicated to architects, designers, students, and students of architectural faculties, designers, and manufacturers looking for new trends around innovative solutions in the field of broadly understood space design. Outstanding experts in the field of architecture will appear on the Forum stage, who will discuss not only the latest trends in architecture but above all the extremely important role of architects and designers in creating, renovating, and revitalizing already developed urban areas and adapting them to the constantly changing expectations of residents, or users of urban spaces.
We will get to know, among others the possibility of creating space without building during a lecture with the participation of Special Guests of the Forum, architects from the award-winning JEMS Architekci Studio. The lecture and discussion with Hubert Trammer, architect and Polish representative at the New European Bauhaus, which will concern the New European Bauhaus and the Polish issue and the possibility of adaptation in our home "backyard", also promises to be interesting.
Architectural discussions will also cover the area of revitalizing the space of small and medium-sized cities. The discussion will cover the subject of the so-called slow cities and the possibility of making the idea of a slowdown a reality through appropriate architectural and urban planning measures, but also cities in transition, which have to find a new idea for themselves after they cease to be significant industrial centers. Therefore, smaller ceases to mean worse and begins to mean other, accurate, balanced, ethical.
We will talk about how to design public spaces for this type of urban center, as well as the socio-cultural context of these investments, with representatives of reportage, architecture, and urban planning, social sciences: Katarzyna Cynka-Bajon (architect, PL. Architects), Bartosz Jarosz (architect, Neostudio Architekci), Filip Springer (reporter), Agata Stanisz (anthropologist, AMU). The discussion will be moderated by Maciej Frąckowiak (sociologist, AMU).
The "Metabolism - transformations, reconstructions, renovations" debate will also take place in a similar vein, which will attempt to answer the questions of how we should transform the existing tissue, what players are and should be involved in this process and whether we have design know-how and legal tools supporting the proper metabolism? These and other aspects of spatial transformations will be discussed by: Małgorzata Tomczak, editor-in-chief of the Architektura & Biznes magazine and portal, architects: Jakub Szczęsny and Oskar Grąbczewski, and dr hab. Arkadiusz Ptak, mayor of Pleszew, local government activist dealing with the development of smaller towns and rural areas.
The D&A Forum will also be a place for presentations and examples of successful modernization and adaptation of urban spaces. We will also get to know the winners of the "Architectural Sketches - Old after New" competition, works made by students and students of architectural faculties, and architectural studios and offices from all over Poland will present their most interesting projects and architectural realizations as part of the 1m / ARCH project!
