The spectacular new building of the Messner Mountain Museum (MMM) on the Kronplatz peak in Bruneck / South Tyrol has been open to visitors since July 2015.
Visitors can expect a typical Zaha Hadid experience: both the external and internal looks of the museum bear the unmistakable signature of the recently deceased British star architect with Iraqi roots, everything was planned as a flowing continuum. All rooms merge into each other, there are no straight walls, no corners either. Three lines of sight link the underground construction with its surroundings. In front of one of the windows, there is even a balcony with a glass balustrade. This is made of cylindrically- curved SGG STADIP CONTOUR Diamant, produced and assembled by Glasbiegerei und Veredlung Franz Döring GmbH from Berlin.
