The launch edition of The Big 5 Construct Egypt is set to kick off on Tuesday under the patronage of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
H.E. Eng. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry, will inaugurate the exhibition, which will run from 18 - 21 September at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC).
More than 200 companies from 24 countries will display the most innovative construction products at The Big 5 Construct Egypt this year.
The show will offer 360-degree solutions for the Egyptian built environment, connecting industry experts, buyers and manufacturers from all over the world.
At a pre-show press conference, Josine Heijmans, Portfolio Director at dmg events, said the show would help promote the long term growth and development of the Egyptian construction industry, along with creating new export partnerships for Egyptian companies.
“Beyond bringing the latest technologies and thousands of innovative construction solutions from leading brands from around the globe, the event will boost business development opportunities in Egypt. A dedicated B2B meeting program will help participants connect and build business relationships right there at the show,” said Heijmans.
Some of the biggest names in construction will take part in the exhibition, which also hosts various international country pavilions, including Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, China, Greece, Turkey, and France among others.
The Big 5 Construct Egypt will also bring a wealth of knowledge to Egyptian architects, engineers, consultants, developers and contractors through more than 40 CPD-certified educational sessions, completely free to attend, added Heijmans.
Ahmed Salman, Architecture Section Head at Pinnacle Construction Projects (PCP), Dr. Dalia Sadany, Founding Chairman of Dalia Sadany Dezines, and Dr. Abdel Nasser Taha, Founder/President of FIABCI-Egypt, who will speak at The Big 5 Construct Egypt, participated in the press conference, offering a preview of their educational sessions.
The Big 5 Construct Egypt will also host the ‘Women in Construction’ seminar series on September 18 to highlight the work of some of Egypt’s pioneering female construction executives.
Commenting on the event’s inaugural edition, Heijmans added: “We would like to thank H.E. Eng. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry for leading the Ministry’s efforts to make this show a platform for the exchange of ideas and learning from across the world. We look forward to continued cooperation in our collective effort to drive the Egyptian economy forward.”
The event comes at a time when the government’s economic reform plan is in full swing. Some of the plan’s objectives include developing sustainable transport infrastructure, reducing urban congestion, boosting the mobility of people and services, and supporting economic growth. These developments make The Big 5 Construct Egypt a vital gateway for companies into a booming construction sector.
“Our decision to launch in Egypt, where our brand already has plenty of recognition, comes as a natural response to this rapidly expanding construction market. dmg events is committed to continue investing in the Egyptian market, with The Big 5 Construct Egypt 2018 being the first of a long series of yearly events to come,” concluded Heijmans.
