VEKA Holds Meet and Greet for Local Officials at New East Location.

On May 5, 2018, executives and employees from VEKA North America and VEKA AG hosted a Meet & Greet event for state, county and city officials at the new facility in Morganton, North Carolina. Local officials included Mayor of Morganton, Ronnie Thompson in attendance.

Dr. Werner Schuler, Global Chief Operating Officer, board member and representative of the shareholder family and Joe Peilert, President and CEO of VEKA North America introduced the company’s worldwide, 50-year history and its local, 35-year North American history. VEKA’s vision for the future in the Southeast region was shared with attendees as well.

Steve Dillon, Marketing Director, (pictured below) made product introductions, specifying the types of products that will be manufactured in the Morganton facility. A temporary showroom was set up for visitors with plans for a more extensive one in the future.

After product presentations and discussions, the group moved to the manufacturing floor where construction is in full swing. Morganton employees and VEKA executives fielded questions from guests while walking through the facility.

Joe Peilert commented, “Business is strong. In support of customer growth, VEKA added this fourth, 163,000 square foot extrusion facility to its mix, bringing the total manufacturing floor space in North America to 1.2 million square feet, solidifying its position as the largest window and door extrusion company in the US.”

The total investment will exceed $10M dollars and is expected to create 80 jobs within two years of operation. VEKA East will be able to accommodate up to 30 extrusion lines and include manufacturing support, value added services, offices and a warehouse. Operations are expected to start in the second half of 2018.

VEKA is a world leader in PVC extrusion technology and is headquartered in Sendenhorst, Germany. VEKA Inc., based in Fombell, Pennsylvania, is corporate headquarters for North America and oversees four manufacturing facilities as well as various product divisions; i.e. VEKA Outdoor Living Products produces vinyl fence, deck and railing products out of the Fombell, PA and Reno, NV and Morganton, NC facilities.
