With sales of £51-million in 2008, Solaglas Contracting is the largest UK-based installer of façades and comprises four regional businesses. The company provides specialist design, fabrication and installation services for external façade and internal glazing projects and recent high profile projects include the installation of 1300m² of glazing for the refurbishment and extension of Stratford Station’s Eastern Egress, BREEAM excellent rated office building ‘The Pinnacle’ in Milton Keynes and £3-million worth of work on Project Allenby/Connaught – the £8-billion PFI scheme to upgrade British Army garrisons at Aldershot and on the Salisbury Plain.
Solaglas Contracting is now competing against six other major national businesses for the coveted title of Specialist Contractor of the Year.
