DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions (DuPont) on March 13, 2008 announces that it has licensed its DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™ digital interlayer technology to Pulp Studio, a decorative glass manufacturer in Los Angeles, Calif.

The agreement allows Pulp Studio to produce and distribute high-definition, decorative safety glass interlayers to meet growing demand for custom-designed imagery and aesthetics in laminated glass.

Pulp Studio, a leading decorative glass supplier in the United States, was chosen by DuPont to help expand use of SentryGlas® Expressions™ through its decorative market access and reputation for high-quality laminating. Printing the polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers in the same location where laminating occurs helps Pulp Studio provide a faster, more efficient response to customer needs. Previously, Pulp Studio had relied on DuPont technology demonstration equipment in the United States to print and supply the decorative interlayers. The new license, along with Pulp Studio's glass expertise, turns the firm into a full-service local market source for DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™, from concept and file handling to printing, laminating and finishing. Pulp Studio will also be adding a full service division called Artwerks that will assist designers in the art development of their projects.

"As architects, designers, builders and contractors continue to explore innovative ways to enhance the safety and aesthetics of commercial structures, they are turning to DuPont as a trusted source for decorative interlayer technology," said Valerie A. Aunet, global marketing manager for DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™. "By increasing our collaboration and cooperation with important customers such as Pulp Studio, we can continue to deliver the high-quality imagery and design textures of SentryGlas® Expressions™ to unique projects around the world."

Pulp Studio has provided decorative laminated glass using SentryGlas® Expressions™ technology for a number of recent projects throughout the United States.

DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™ is a revolutionary new way for designers and artists to harness digital technologies to produce a wide range of decorative glass results. The technology uses a proprietary process developed by DuPont to print directly onto the plastic interlayer of laminated safety glass.

Used for self-standing internal walls, partitions and doors, stairway balustrades, tabletops, elevators, windows or entire external building facades, SentryGlas® Expressions™ adds flair to any space. Its aesthetic properties are added to the many other benefits of laminated glass including safety, security, excellent outdoor weatherability, protection from UV rays, noise reduction, and solar/thermal control results.
