SiteMinder allows administrators to easily manage user privileges and entitlements across applications, resulting in reduced administrative costs. SiteMinder also enables secure single sign-on access to multiple application platforms, providing a simplified user experience.
Guardian, a leading worldwide manufacturer of float glass and fabricated glass products for the commercial and residential construction industries, wanted to acquire additional security capabilities for its Web environment. Guardian sought a solution that would provide stronger authorization, secure single sign-on across multiple application platforms, and offer rich identity management to administer users and their roles. By using Netegrity SiteMinder technology, Guardian expects to deploy advanced security features while reducing administrative costs and simplifying user management.
"After evaluating several products, we selected SiteMinder for its ability to provide advanced security features and integrate with our current and future Web technology investments," said Scott Malvich, IT Manager at Guardian. "Netegrity's flexible, robust and scalable solution will support our growing business needs as we extend our Web presence to include partners and customers."
Guardian's intranet provides access to various business applications including the company's CRM solution, Web mail and collaborative virtual team room applications. With SiteMinder, Guardian is able to centrally manage applications rather than building proprietary user directories and access control systems for individual programs.
SiteMinder supports all leading infrastructure components, including directories, Web servers, application servers, platforms and authentication methods (passwords, certificates, token, smart cards.) SiteMinder is also the only security management product that provides native-directory integration with a company's existing directories and databases (LDAP, NDS, NT directory services and SQL), eliminating the need for redundant user databases.
