Wire Glass Must Be Removed from all educational facilities which include all K-12 construction. Also athletic facilities which cover gymnasiums, basketball courts, and racquetball courts - and may extend to rooms used for kickboxing and aerobics classes.

The International Code Council voted in April to act on the recommendation of the committee and remove the exemption for wired glass when it comes to Category E (educational facilities) and athletic facilities. Some jurisdictions have already indicated their acceptance of the new I-Codes. Others may want to review the changes prior to acceptance.
To date, the greatest number of known incidents involving wired glass has been in K-12 schools or athletic facilities. That's not to say the same thing doesn't happen elsewhere. There is a move underway in some states to expand the restrictions. In Oregon, for example, the father of a boy who was injured in a wired glass accident has been working to eliminate the use of wired glass in hospitals, daycare centers and assembly areas. And some are beginning to say that fire-rated glass located in hazardous locations should meet high impact test requirements - regardless of the type of building.

With many changes taking in to effect today, we at Jmacks International Inc. have dedicated ourselves to come up with solutions with other well knowed glass companies worldwide. For the sake of public safety, we are here to serve in this request.
