Guardian Industries and Omni Glass and Paint donate fire truck windshields to New York City Fire Department

We all agreed that this very special order represented a small opportunity for each of our companies to support the heroic efforts of the rescue teams in New York City,” said Vince Swint, director of operations for aftermarket distribution at Guardian Industries. “We can’t be there ourselves, but together, Omni Glass, FWD Seagrave and Guardian Industries can make a difference by quickly getting these folks needed replacement equipment.”The New York City Fire Department placed an order Thursday, September 13, with Clintonville, Wis.-based fire truck manufacturer FWD Seagrave for the windshields.Seagrave contacted its supplier Omni Glass & Paint Company of Oshkosh, Wis., which in turn called global glass manufacturer Guardian Industries, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich.

Within hours of the order, the three companies had agreed to donate the truck windshields and forego normal distribution channels.
