Guardian Glass recently welcomed more than 200 guests to a community and customer celebration at its Rayong, Thailand float glass plant.

A world leader in the manufacture of float and value-added glass products, Guardian Glass has had a major presence in Thailand for more than 25 years – 20 years in Rayong – and recently made significant investments to the Rayong plant to increase capacity, reduce the company’s environmental footprint and expand its product portfolio.

Guardian Industries President and CEO Ron Vaupel welcomed the guests, which included local officials and dignitaries; glass dealers, fabricators, glaziers and suppliers; and company officials.

“Our shared vision at Guardian is to create value for our customers, our company and the communities in which we live and work,” said Vaupel.

“We believe that if we stay focused on creating value for our customers, while staying true to our guiding principles, our business and our employees will find success. Thank you to our employees in Thailand for their dedication and commitment to our vision.”

The Guardian Glass Rayong plant started production as part of a joint venture in 1997. The investment was preceded by five years with launch of the Nong Khae, Thailand float glass plant in 1992. Both plants produce glass for the commercial, residential and transportation industries.

Over the years, Nong Khae has also modernized its float glass line (2012), expanded its capabilities through the addition of a new wet coater (2014) and approved an investment in a laminated glass production line (2016).

“This event is about celebrating the company’s more than two-and-a-half decades of success in Thailand and strengthening our relationships for years to come,” said Sanjiv Gupta, General Manager, Asia Pacific Region, Guardian Glass.

Throughout the celebration, guests toured the facility to see the float glass process first-hand and enjoyed refreshments, dinner and a program that recognized Thailand’s top 10 customers for their continued support and dedication to Guardian and its products.
