Dip-Tech, the digital ceramic glass printing business unit of Ferro, today announced that, as part of its ongoing sustainability efforts, it has substantially increased the shelf life of its entire SPECTRUM R series, from six months to nine months.
At 50% longer, this extended shelf life brings substantial time and cost savings to glass processors and enables them to manage their ink logistics in a new way. It is now possible to reduce the number of shipments, to buy larger quantities in a single order, and to use ink from the same batch in both the mock-up and the actual job, even when there is a significant time lag until the project begins. As a result, glass processors can simplify their ink inventory management and drastically reduce ink waste.
In addition, all SPECTRUM R digital inks are REACH-compliant, lead and cadmium free, and compatible with EU directive 2011/65/EU, increasing the green performance of the inks.
“We embarked on extensive R&D efforts to extend the shelf life of Dip-Tech SPECTRUM R inks both to increase value for glass processors and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving sustainability across the glass value chain,” says Yuval Naor, Product Manager at Dip-Tech. “A nine-month shelf life means improved environmental performance, plus extensive cost savings for our customers, which is definitely a win-win in our books.”
Compatible with all Dip-Tech printers, the high-performance SPECTRUM R digital inks provide superior chemical and scratch resistance, precise RAL color matching, and exceptionally vivid and vibrant colors. The inks series includes black, white, blue, green, red, and orange.
Customers around the world have been working with Dip-Tech SPECTRUM R series for more than a year and have reported strong satisfaction with the results achieved.
