A strong regional commercial glazing market, combined with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service, is driving growth and expansion for GLASSOLUTIONS customer Queniborough Aluminium Services.

The Leicester based aluminium window, door and curtain walling fabricator and installer has more than doubled sales since 2010 as it attracts ever more business from satisfied clients across the public and commercial sectors.

Along with its long standing partnership with Leicestershire County Council on its school buildings framework, the company continues to deliver a wide variety of projects including the recently completed refurbishment of Loughborough College and extension at Begbrook Science Park.

Responding to growing demand, QAS has just completed a project to expand the size of its production area to 20,000 sq. ft., employing an additional eight people in the process.

It has done this through the acquisition of neighbouring premises and by re-configuring the available space with a clever approach to separating factory and office areas.

By applying the best of its curtain walling expertise, and utilising an acoustic glazing specification developed and manufactured by its IGU supplier GLASSOLUTIONS, QAS has created an 11m by 3.5m partition screen across the width of its main production area.

Sitting behind this is 92 sq. m of office space, protected from the noise of the factory floor but visually connected to ensure the business operates as one.

The application of 38mm IGUs incorporating 8.8mm SGG STADIP Silence to achieve Rw 45db (weighted noise reduction) was key to bringing QAS's idea to fruition.

With increased capacity, QAS is better placed to fulfil larger contracts and expand the breadth of projects it tenders for.

As a fabricator offering a range of aluminium systems from leading manufacturers, and using GLASSOLUTIONS-made IGUs benefiting from market leading SGG COOL-LITE SKN and Planitherm glass products, the company has a really strong proposition in a competitive market.

Richard McKenzie, Commercial Manager at QAS said: "We've established an excellent reputation in the local and regional market which has enabled us to grow sustainably and attract the right kind of projects to suit our capabilities.

By extending and re-configuring our factory and office accommodation we're now in an even better position to serve clients, including larger projects, with an excellent portfolio of systems and glazing solutions to offer."
