Windowplus offers 'A' rated windows with Thermix-TX.N

Date: 19 December 2008

Windowplus Home Improvements Limited in Glasgow was the first window manufacturer in Scotland to achieve energy rated windows in August 2006 and now, with the help of Thermix-TX.

N warm edge spacer bar, has introduced the prestigious ‘A’ rated casement window to their range.Windowplus manufactures a standard frame with a BFRC rating of ‘C’.  Now, having worked closely with sealed unit manufacturer Strathclyde Insulating Glass Limited based in Lanarkshire, this standard has been upgraded by altering the construction of the sealed unit.  The new ‘A’ rated windows are achieved by adding low iron glass, Argon gas filling to the cavity and replacing the standard aluminium spacer with Thermix-TX.N high performance spacer bar.  All sealed units are professionally constructed and gas filled to EN1279 part 3 standards which is now a legal requirement for achieving an official ‘A’ rating from the BFRC.Windowplus has manufactured top quality windows, doors, conservatories and vertical sliders in PVCu since 1984.  And with the support of Strathclyde Insulating Glass Limited, it can now offer both ‘A’ and ‘C’ rated windows as required by customer specification.  Robert Tierney, general manager for Windowplus says:  “We’re in full support of the Window Energy Rating (WER) scheme and the current effort to raise the quality of windows and so we’ve worked with our trusted supplier, Strathclyde Insulating Glass Limited to make sure that we offer the TX.N warm-edge ‘A’ rated option for our customers.  We’ve always believed in offering our customers the highest standard windows we can, so we keep a close eye on current regulations and available market options to ensure that we provide the best windows available.  “In fact, we looked at several warm-edge options to make sure that we chose insulated glass sealed units which are proven throughout Europe and so comply with EN1279 part 3.  With these standards, our windows can now legally acquire an official WER ‘A’ rating given by the BFRC (British Fenestration Rating Council).“Offering our customers the highest standard windows we can is what has kept us in business for the last 25 years.  Supplying windows with the knowledge that they are future-proof and will have the same energy rating in years to come is what we want our customers to expect as standard.”David Blore from Strathclyde Insulating Glass Limited, adds: “We have spent a great deal of time and effort ensuring that we manufacture sealed units that offer the best possible energy savings and are aesthetically pleasing to suit home improvement, new build and commercial applications.  “As we have with Windowplus, we work closely with our customers and tailor our units to meet their specific requirements.  We always guarantee the best quality of construction, if not for any other reason than we intend to be in business beyond the warranty period of our units.  We know that by looking after our customers customer’s by offering the right quality of product and service, we’ll contribute to their business success and ensure the future of our business.“It’s for this reason that we are very careful about the supplier that we use.  As a manufacturer, we are dependent on the product support and reliable delivery service from our supplier.  This is why we chose Thermoseal Group which also puts a big emphasis on the quality and service of their products while providing realistic manufacturing solutions.”For energy rated windows to suit your requirements contact Windowplus, Spiersbridge Business Park, Thornliebank, Glasgow, G46 8NL on 0141 638 8141 or e-mail office@windowplus.co.uk. Alternatively, visit www.windowplus.co.uk.For high quality sealed units built to meet your requirements, contact Strathclyde Insulating Glass Limited, Hillhouse Industrial Estate, Hamilton, ML3 9SY on 01698 284554 or e-mail sales@strath-glass.co.uk.  If you’d like to speak to Thermoseal Group with a view to differentiating your sealed unit business while reducing your manufacturing costs, call 0845 331 3950 (Intl tel: 0044 121 331 3950), e-mail sales@thermosealgroup.com.Alternatively, visit www.thermosealgroup.com to view over 2,000 insulated glass components and a wide range of glass machinery.
