Tools, features and content emphasize continuity from legacy PPG glass site.

Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) has launched a new website at vitroglazings.com, which retains all of the most popular and heavily trafficked features on the legacy PPGIdeaScapes.com website, including the CONSTRUCT tool, online sample order system, and thermal stress analysis tools; as well as links to product literature, architectural glass specifications, design resources and technical information.

Glenn T. Miner, director of construction, Vitro Glass, said content on the new site emphasizes the continuity of the transition from PPG glass to Vitro Glass. “We have a new name, but our customers are being served by the same people, products and plants as before,” he explained.

“That also is true of the website, which has a new interface, yet preserves many of the features that make it such a popular and valuable resource for architects, specifiers and other building professionals.”

Visitors to vitroglazings.com can access the Vitro Glass CONSTRUCT tool, which enables users to construct and compare configurations for multi-pane insulating glass units (IGUs) - as well as monolithic, decorative, laminated and spandrel glass - using performance data from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) International Glazing Database (IGDB).

Other exclusive features include password-free access to the LBNL database, including performance data for non-Vitro Glass products, and the ability to generate, with a single mouse-click, industry-standard 3-part Construction Specifier Institute (CSI) specifications for any all-Vitro Glass configuration built with the tool.

The site also hosts a sample order tool that enables architects to receive complimentary 4-by-6-inch or 12-by-12-inch samples of any Vitro Glass, or to request a pre-packaged sample kit with low-emissivity (low-e) glasses such as Solarban®90, Solarban 70XL and Solarban 67 glasses, and other kits featuring tinted, textured, Starphire Ultra-Clear™ and Clarvista® shower glass products.

Architects can view almost two dozen case studies and retrieve photos of hundreds of buildings finished with Vitro Glass, searchable by product or location. Additional resources include downloadable copies of all Vitro Glass catalogs, product literature, data sheets and technical bulletins.

The website links to the newly re-branded Vitro Architectural Glass Education Center, the industry’s most comprehensive online source of glass-related information and educational content.

There also are complete long-form and short-form specifications for nearly all Vitro Glass configurations and links to tools for building information and modeling (BIM), BSD SpecLink-E, ARCAT and AutoDesk.

Vitro Glass will soon be adding new architect-friendly features to the site, with the goal of making it easier than ever for architects to design, specify and construct projects with glass. To learn more, visit vitroglazings.com or call 1-855-VTRO-GLS (887-6457).
