Viracon Adds VRE-43 to Its Proprietary Coating Portfolio, A Dynamic Low-E Coating Offering a 0.22 Solar Heat Gain Coefficient

Date: 6 June 2017

Viracon, the nation’s leading single-source architectural glass fabricator, introduces VRE-43, featuring a 0.22 solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) and 43% visible light transmission (VLT). VRE-43 continues to push coating innovation with its perfect balance of aesthetics and performance.

“Through a recently patented process, VRE-43 is able to provide low interior and exterior reflectivity for great aesthetics, balanced with VLT and SHG attributes that improve occupant comfort and reduce energy costs. This is a combination that is unmatched in the market today,” states Brian Savage, Viracon’s Product Manager for the coating category. “Through a unique formula and application process developed by our engineers, this coating will help architects and building owners meet the continuing pressure to achieve lower solar heat gain measures and still provide ample transmitted daylight.”

As is the case with all Viracon’s coatings, VRE-43 can be combined with a broad selection of other fabrication options. It can be applied to a variety of tinted substrates to alter the exterior aesthetics and further improve solar performance and glare reduction. It can be applied on the same surface as digital print or silk-screen to improve overall performance even further. Add the options of laminating and insulating and it is clear that designers have exceptional versatility with VRE-43 to deliver striking aesthetics with great performance.
