Unicel louvers with fire-rated glazing enhance patient safety and privacy in new Abu Dhabi Hospital

Unicel Vision Control® louvers along with Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-rated glazing from Technical Glass Products (TGP) will contribute to optimal levels of patient privacy and safety.

Unicel Architectural, manufacturer of vision and daylight control solutions, today announced the completion of its Vision Control® louvered glazing project at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Hospital (CCAD) - a multi-specialty academic medical center located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Al Maryah Island.Approximately 250 Vision Control® units of Unicel’s patented louvers-between-glass have been installed at CCAD for interior use in doors, windows and borrowed lites.Glass types include clear tempered, laminated, and Pilkington Pyrostop® fire-rated glazing rated for 45, 60 and 90 minutes.

CCAD is on track to start seeing patients in 2015. The 364 bed and 409,234 square meter facility will be an extension of the Cleveland Clinic model of care, offering a range of tertiary and quaternary medical services. Upon completion, CCAD will be one of the largest medical centers in the Middle East and will offer advanced medical technologies within an atmosphere that promotes wellness and recovery.
