It is one of four branches of Thermoseal Group - the other three sites are located in Northern, Southern and Central England bringing fast door-to-door delivery of products throughout the UK.
Ireland’s on site management staff include: Area Sales Manager, Norman Cameron and Operations Manager, Andrew McCandless. Both Norman and Andrew have both been with Thermoseal since the site opened in 1997. Norman says: “We have a great setup here in Newtownabbey and we are thoroughly enjoying representing Thermoseal Group in Ireland. It’s good to work for a company with such camaraderie between branches. We believe that we have some of the best customers and we’re in the best location. Hence, we’re still here after ten years.
Thermoseal Group’s Managing Director, Gwain Paterson says: “Our Ireland branch has proved to be a great asset to Thermoseal. Our staff always put the customer first which is proven by the loyalty of our Irish customers. Thank you to you all.
“In all our branches we aim to give our customers the best service so that they receive their insulated glass components and double glazing machinery in as shorter time as possible, at the best quality, and at our most competitive price.
“We appreciate that without satisfied customers and a great team of people, we wouldn’t be one of our industry’s leaders. We have been in business for almost thirty years and we intend to be here as a leader in another thirty years to come.”

Shoulder Story 1 – Thermoseal Group Ireland Celebrates with one of its oldest customers
I.M.C. Glass is a successful double glazing manufacturer based in Banbridge, County Down and has been supplied with Thermoseal Group’s glass machinery and insulated glass components since Thermoseal Group’s Belfast branch was opened in 1997. During this period its business has gone from strength to strength.
I.M.C Glass began trading in 1991 as a small sealed unit manufacturer. It has now grown its business and produces almost 3,000 insulated glass sealed units per month.
I.M.C. Glass’ owner Ivan McCreanor says: “Thermoseal Group has been a pleasure to deal with for the past ten years and I’m sure that our relationship will continue in years to come.
“Norman’s visits are always welcome. I enjoy the banter!”
Shoulder Story 2 – Glass Seal NI builds quality with Thermoseal Group on demand
Glas-Seal NI Ltd is one of the longest-established sealed unit manufacturers in Ireland and is growing on demand.
Since its beginnings in 1973, Glas-Seal has been the industry leader in sealed unit manufacture in Ireland and it’s currently preparing to introduce more shifts and so more staff to increase production by 40% over the next few months.
Nigel Martin, Production Manager at Glas-Seal NI Ltd says: “We have been trading with Thermoseal Group for several years and we’re very happy with the service we receive.
“We used to import our sealed unit components in bulk and store them on our own premises but we decided that we wanted the stability of a local supplier that understands our business needs in terms of quality, price and delivery.
“Thermoseal Group has proved to be a great choice of local supplier. We generally receive our sealed unit supplies within 24 hours and we even get unusual products within 2-3 days.
“As well as a great service, we’ve also managed to significantly reduce the amount of stock we hold in our factory. This is great because even with the recent extensions of our building and further extension planned to substantiate our rapid business growth, it’s great to have the extra room and also to release of additional working capital which is useful to any business.”
Glas-Seal Ltd was the first company in Ireland to achieve BS5713 Kitemark status for its units and was also the first to achieve EN1279 pt.2 & pt.3 accreditation.
With investment in 2007 exceeding £1m, Glas-Seal Ltd now boasts state-of-the-art toughening, polishing, drilling and CNC capabilities alongside its traditional strengths in laminated glass, fire resistant glass and of course sealed units.
