The organization, a foundation created by Associated Industries of Massachusetts to help businesses benefit from global commerce, gave Solutia one of three International Trade Achievement Awards this week.
Solutia is the world's largest producer of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers for laminated glass, which it sells under the Saflex name.
Jay B. Nesbitt, plant manager, said that about 70 percent of the production in the Indian Orchard plant is exported. It also exports PVB resin and film to Solutia plants in Mexico, Brazil and China.
"We sell our products on every continent," he said.

"We like to say we as a company do half of the windshields in the world," Nesbitt said.
He said the entire market for PVB products is growing.
