In the autumn of this year, specialists of the company "SmartElectroGlass" developed a fundamentally new technology for obtaining smart glass.

Today the cost price of Dubna electrochromic glass is almost three times cheaper than foreign analogues, besides, a new sputtering process using Spray-Coating technology is simpler and more efficient than the Deep Coating dip coating method.

The head of SmartElectroGlass, Alexei Dmitriev, said that in the first half of 2018 the company plans to begin scaling technology, which will combine further improvement of the sputtering processes and the industrial production of electrochromic glasses.

To date, the NanoCenter "Dubna" has created an infrastructure on the basis of which a group of scientists is working and technology is being improved. The installation, which makes the glass clever, is located on the pilot site of the partner of the Smart Glass project of ZAO Privat Glass.

Intelligent glass - a composite of layers of glass and chemical materials. Electrochromic layer under the influence of applied voltage is able to reversibly change color from transparent to dark blue. Using smart windows and windows in construction will reduce the cost of air conditioning and lighting up to 40%.
