Fire-resistant glass can be applied to more and more structures demanding innovation. Ceilings and stairs are good examples of such structures.

Modern architecture includes glass. And most of this is fire-resistant glass. Thanks to the continuing launch of more and more technologically advanced products, it can be applied to more and more structures demanding innovation. Ceilings and stairs are good examples of such structures.

In preparation for fire break-outs, walk-on floors and stairs require fireresistant glass that can bear load. Glass intended for such use is tested and certified for load-bearing.

After measuring the fire-resistance index (E) and the insulation index (I), the glass is indexed for load bearing capacity in fire incidents (R). POLFLAM offers POLFLAM® F glass for glazed ceilings of fire-resistance classes REI 30, REI 45 and REI 60 and the load-bearing capacity of as high as 5 kN/m2 . The glass’ thickness is in the range of 46 to 62 mm, depending on its dimensions.

Fire-resistant glazed ceilings and stairs allow light saturation inside as difficult spaces as staircases. They are therefore the solution sought by architects.

Using POLFLAM® F glass panels, one can also form a variety of geometric shapes, inside rectangular perimeters, of maximum dimensions 2200 x 1650 mm.

POLFLAM® F glass is also completely safe for ordinary day-to-day applications as it can be coated with antiskid screen print.

POLFLAM® F glass complies with the load-bearing, insulation, and fire-resistance criteria, in accordance with PN-EN 1365-2:2014 standards. It has successfully passed tests carried out by a notified European body.
