Investor award for Pilkington website

The Pilkington plc website, www.pilkington.com, has won a major award just four weeks after re-launch for best practice in investor relations.

Pilkington carried off the Most Improved IR Website category at the 2002 Annual Investor Relations Website Awards held in London on 18 April.

The Award, sponsored by the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), attracted some 300 entries from leading UK firms. The trophy was handed to Head of Corporate Affairs, David Roycroft, by DTI Minister of State Alan Johnson MP.

The Pilkington site also received a commendation in the category Best FTSE 250 Website.

Said David Roycroft: "This recognises radical improvements in the Corporate Information section of our site. The Award and Commendation reward an enormous amount of work to make this a world-class site. Company websites are today a prime information source for financial analysts and shareholders and undoubtedly influence investment decisions."
