Fullex 'Double lock out' crime

Date: 6 December 2011

The Crimebeater Midlock system from Fullex, is a revolution in home security. The system is one of first lock systems available on the market to be not only lock the door, but also, to lock the lock.

Having achieved full PAS23/24 accreditation, Crimebeater Midlock resists unlawful entry, including the new clause 11a that covers severe physical attack on the lock cylinder. Crimebeater Midlock, has been awarded the coveted Secured by Design accreditation - one of the UK’s most widely respected benchmarks for security. Steve Allsopp of Fullex, comments: “With video footage and instructions on how to make and use bump keys becoming easily available on the Internet, lock bumping and lock snapping have become major concerns.

These techniques have the potential to affect around 22 million door locks in the UK alone. A major worry that arises when a lock has been bumped and a house burgled is that many insurance companies refuse to pay out because there is no evidence at all of forced entry. This breakthrough product tackles this worrying trend head on, offering complete BSI and Police approved security and total peace of mind to the homeowner.” The result of years of intensive research and development, Crimebeater Midlock incorporates a 5 lever Midlock with 20,000 key combinations that locks the door lock, preventing entry, even if the Euro cylinder is overcome.

The lock, which can be fitted to any type of door, was UKAS tested to PAS23/24. It sustained a varied attack using all the tools used for PAS24 as well as additional tools which are available to any burglar but are not currently used in PAS24 testing. After the attack, the homeowner can still lock and unlock the door fitted with Crimebeater Midlock, even if the euro cylinder is unusable. The design features of Crimebeater Midlock will be familiar to most householders and the comfort of having an additional key to ‘lock out’ the burglar will be significant.
