The new build houses were considered ideal for nomination by Alistair Dunning from Shropshire Building Control, who stated that they were of ‘excellent standard’ and that they ‘had a good chance of doing well’.The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards will celebrate all that’s good in the construction industry in early September 2016.They evaluate important aspects associated with excellent building design including outstanding craftsmanship, technical innovation, sustainability and high performance.
As a reflection of the high standards associated with the awards, consideration is also given to special working relationships with the LABC, where technical problems are solved, or innovative products introduced that help to create new solutions to technical issues.
The LABC Awards recognise excellence in all types of building projects from residential extensions to new homes and schools as well as commercial, industrial and stadia, with the network covering every local authority in England and Wales. Entrants are nominated for the regional awards initially with those winners being automatically shortlisted for the Grand Finals which are held in London in the autumn.
