March 2014 will offer one of the world’s leading trade shows for the glass and glazing industry: fensterbau/frontale in Nuremberg, Germany.

In advance of the event, the organiser and the Glass and Glazing Federation have embarked upon a closer cooperation.

Based in London, the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is the main representative trade organisation for companies that manufacture, supply or install glass and glazing products. Though many members and staff at the GGF have visited fensterbau/frontale in the past, for 2014 the organisation has joined forces with NürnbergMesse to work together to provide support and hospitality for GGF members at the show and to impart first-hand current technical information to the wider industry.

All companies are invited to join the GGF at fensterbau/frontale on their UK pavilion stand to discuss industry issues and network with colleagues and friends from around the world. NürnbergMesse is pleased to have the GGF on board to stimulate trading relationships between the British Isles and the global window market. Elke Harreiß, Project Manager of fensterbau/frontale, explained the benefits of this cooperation: “Many companies from the UK fabricating windows, doors, conservatories and curtain walls are visitors here at fensterbau/frontale in Nuremberg. The installers are also a subset of visitors present at the show. True innovations for this industry are launched by the manufacturers of components and hardware at the highly international fensterbau/frontale. So, when the British fabricators and manufacturers come to Nuremberg as visitors in March, they will hear fresh ideas straight from the horse’s mouth which they then can bring home and introduce to the UK market.”

Every two years, window and façade manufacturers, carpenters, architects and distributors get updated in Nuremberg on the latest product releases in profile systems, prefabricated units, architectural glass, fixing equipment, safety equipment, machines, installations and much more. Harreiß summarised the last event in 2012: “The trade fair regularly gets top marks from both exhibitors and visitors in our surveys. 97 per cent of the companies in 2012 met some of the international visitors from 115 countries on their stands. About 36 per cent of the trade visitors of fensterbau/frontale are international. They come from all over Europe with large groups coming from Eastern Europe, especially Russia, but as well as other continents.

In 2014 we are looking forward to welcoming the first official Australian group organised by the Australian Window Association.” However, fensterbau/frontale not only stands out for its global resonance, but for the accurate combination of supply and demand too: “Well over 90 per cent of the companies involved said they had reached their most important target groups at fensterbau/frontale, and nine out of ten exhibitors launched a new product or innovation in Nuremberg,” said Harreiß. The approximately 100,000 trade visitors expected at the coming edition can look forward to the latest know-how on the main topics of sustainability, comfort, automation and energy efficiency. “For anyone wanting to get to know the innovations of the world market in one compact place, there is simply no other option than to browse the display of products from the almost 800 fensterbau/frontale exhibitors in Nuremberg,” says Harreiß.

Supplementing the vast range of products from the exhibiting companies, fensterbau/frontale will present a dynamic supporting programme again in 2014, with a variety of opportunities for gathering information and networking. Details on the presentation and event programme are online at www.frontale.de, where visitors can also find further information about exhibitors, hall plans, travel, accommodation and lots more. Strong partners all over the world The organizer of fensterbau/frontale is NürnbergMesse GmbH. The honorary sponsors are the association ‘Fachverband Glas Fenster Fassade Baden-Württemberg’ and the two guilds, the ‘Landesinnungsverband des Glaserhandwerks Rheinland-Pfalz’ and the ‘Landesinnungsverband des Bayerischen Glaserhandwerks’. fensterbau/frontale is also a founding member of the Global Fair Alliance of world-leading window exhibitions and is involved with ift Rosenheim in the International Strategic Partnership Fenestration.
