Architectural designer-turned-TV presenter Charlie Luxton is building a house in collaboration with Home Building and Renovating magazine – and he’s using illbruck’s state-of-the-art TP650 Trio installation tape to fit the windows and doors.

Noted for his expertise in designing sustainable buildings, Charlie has featured in a range of programmes for Sky, Channel 4 and Channel 5, and now people can follow his progress as he works on building his own dream home in Oxfordshire on the Home Building and Renovating YouTube channel.

His aim is to make the finished property as environmentally-friendly as possible, so energy efficiency is a top priority. That’s why, to fit the project’s triple-glazed, thermally broken aluminium-clad timber windows, Charlie has used illbruck TP650 Trio.

Charlie Luxton builds a house with a little help from TP650TP650 Trio has been designed and engineered to excel in every respect. It’s a pre-compressed, multi-functional polyurethane tape that’s impregnated with flame-retardant resin.

It offers the most outstanding thermal efficiency, outstanding air-tightness, and driving rain resistance up to 600 PA. It seals and protects corner joints from mould and fungi. It significantly improves acoustic insulation. And, most importantly of all, it’s so easy to fit.

A lot of other non-silicone sealant solutions on the market are flawed. They’re incredibly difficult to align, or they crease around corners. Trio has none of these problems – and can be measured and applied in a matter of minutes.

What’s more, it’s fully compliant with BS8213-4:2016 CoP for the survey and installation of windows and external door sets, and the Glass and Glazing Federation’s Guide to Good Practice.
