Belron, Diamond Glass Settle Lawsuit

Date: 14 June 2007

Belron US and Diamond Triumph Auto Glass Inc. said Tuesday the auto-glass replacement companies have agreed to drop all remaining claims against each other in a five-year-old lawsuit.

Belron spokesman Mark Smolik said under the settlement agreement, the former Safelite Group Inc. will drop its six claims against Diamond - which include commercial bribery and unfair trade practices - and Diamond will drop its two claims against Belron. Those claims included allegations Belron misrepresented Diamond's operations to customers who called Belron's call centers, Smolik said.

Belron, in addition to running repair and replacement shops, handles auto-glass claims for a variety of insurance companies and also manufactures auto glass. The settlement stipulates that Diamond will buy an undisclosed amount of glass from Belron over five years.
