Walker Textures® is proud to release results of tests performed by the American Bird Conservancy on three Aviprotek® patterned acid-etched glass products.

The three AviProtek® standard patterns when used on the outside surface of the glass have effective threat factors which contribute to collision avoidance on buildings 70 to 77 % of the time.

Based on these results, patterns 211, 213 and 214 of the AviProtek® are deemed effective by ABC.

Furthermore, full surface acid-etched glass is also an effective bird friendly solution with a threat factor of 5 when used on position 1 and of 25 on position 2.

“With these new results, the AviProtek® line offers effective and exciting solutions for those involved in bird friendly projects. These standard patterns can also be used with the AviProtek® E which combines the Solarban® high performance low-e coatings on position 2 with the acid-etched visual markers on position 1. Also, the Walker Textures® acid-etched glass products are covered by a 10-year warranty on surface degradation.” says Marc Deschamps, Business Development Manager.
