Redesigned website features a restructured homepage and improved access to educational content

Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) announced that it has completed a significant update of its online Glass Education Center website at glassed.vitroglazings.com. Developed as an educational tool for the building products industry, the redesigned version of the site features a restructured homepage, re-organized content categories and an updated article tagging system that makes it even easier to browse Vitro’s vast library of educational content on the science of glass.

The goal of the website update was to improve the overall functionality of the site, with specific improvements being made to the navigation, homepage and search tool.

According to Nathan McKenna, director, marketing and innovation, the redesigned Glass Education Center website is a response to feedback from stakeholders as well as an investigation of website data that revealed what users were looking for on the site.

“In addition to creating more content, we sought to improve the visibility of our current content and the navigational options between posts,” said McKenna. “The Glass Education Center website covers a wide variety of glass industry topics, but with the addition of dynamic content callouts and new glass topic groupings that better connect relevant posts, users of the site can more easily see the ‘big picture.’”

Since its creation in 2013, the Vitro Glass Education Center has published more than 60 posts that use a combination of videos, infographics, slide shows and narrative articles to examine a wide variety of glass industry topics. Its library of content is continually expanding, with new topics added regularly based on the questions most frequently asked online or to Vitro Glass sales representatives and call center personnel.

Additional highlights of the new glassed.vitroglazings.com are functionality improvements that make the site more mobile-friendly in addition to loading faster and producing more precise search results.
