Specialist Glass Products increases production capacity by 80%

The furnace, costing £120,000, has not only increased our production capacity by 80% but it also allows us to laminate glass sizes up to 6000mm by 32000mm. This means that SGP is now one of the only glass manufacturers in the UK to be able to produce pieces of laminated glass in this size, enabling us to be extremely competitive in this market sector.

Although being the only one of its kind and size in the UK, the furnace installation and subsequent operation required no extra training for Specialist Glass Products staff as our expertise in glass lamination allows us to operate the equipment with ease.

The installation of the new furnace follows on from significant investment from Specialist Glass Products within the business. The last three years have seen a £5.5million investment including more than doubling the factory size and bringing in further equipment to allow SGP to remain at the forefront of innovation and research and development in its sector.

The new high-tech equipment and additional working space have effectively quadrupled our production capacity over the past 36 months, ensuring that SGP can not only meet the requirements of larger projects but can also produce glass in the most cost-effective way.
