The hardware consists of an ultra-compact Windows PC with W-Lan connection, a 27 inch multi-touchscreen and a barcode scanner, while the software, fully preconfigured for simple start-up, comprises a version of Schueco’s SchüCal estimating software specially adapted for fabrication.
The touchscreen makes accessing the SchüCal data quick and intuitive, but as an alternative, information may be called up by scanning the saw barcode that is printed on each profile. Either way, SchüCal immediately finds the item and provides the relevant documents, for example, roller diagrams.
The processes are shown in 3D to make article recognition easier and the correct catalogue page can printed out with a single click, a far less laborious operation than hunting through the pages of a printed manual. The continuous update service ensures that the data displayed is always up-to- date.
In addition, comprehensive search functions facilitate searches in the technical manuals using filters that pinpoint products by means of subject catalogues, article numbers and specific terms. Dynamic navigation is also available. ... Technical manuals have a high-res PDF display with a zoom feature, bookmarks and size-adjustable controls.
A direct-print function allows paper copies of individual catalogue pages to be printed out if required. Like the SchüCal function, the catalogue software is operated by touchscreen.
