Project Focus | Switchable Glass at the Guinness Storehouse

Privacy Smartglass, the switchable glass from Smartglass International, was installed in the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland.

Guinness won’t need much of an introduction but for those of you not familiar with the “black stuff”, it is a popular dry stout originating from Dublin, Ireland.It is brewed in almost 60 countries worldwide and available in over 100. The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin gives visitors a tour of the brewery, the process behind the “perfect pint”, and a history of the product and brand. It has proven very popular and is ranked as Ireland’s Number One Tourist attraction with just under 1.1 million visitors per year!

Our switchable glass was installed to provide interactive rear-projection screens at various locations within the brewery. It was also used as full ceiling-to-floor partitions for other parts of the brewery.

Our switchable glass, when switched OFF, takes the form of a completely private opaque screen. When in this opaque state, it also acts as a high-def rear projection screen. This allows you to integrate immersive digital displays into your surroundings that are sure to WOW your audience or guests.
